How do they work?

The Technical/Transport Department serves as a crucial component within an organization, responsible for managing and maintaining various aspects of the company’s vehicles, machinery, and technical infrastructure is and are also charged with the responsibility of developing and maintaining the physical infrastructure of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation.

To achieve this, the department is organized into the following sub-sections:

Roles and Responsibilities

Some of their responsibilities include construction of drains, supervise grading and leveling of roadway, pave and patch roadways including Agriculture Access Roads, Vegetation control, clearing of roadside, etc

  1. Dispatch of vehicles and equipment to the relevant department in order to carry out day to day functioning of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation
  2. Maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment assigned to the Transport Section
  3. Management of filing system for all vehicles
  4. Receipt of complaints with respect to abnormalities or defects of vehicles
  5. Responsible for the delivery of materials to job sites and documents to relevant Ministries and Departments
  1. General maintenance and upkeep of vehicles and equipment for TPRC
  2. Mechanical repairs, including engine rebuilding, brakes, and drivetrain repairs
  3. Servicing, including engine, drive train, suspension, and brakes servicing
  4. Electrical repairs and servicing
  5. Tyre and body repairs and servicing
  6. Diagnostic computer analysis
  7. Washing and sanitation of vehicles
  8. Preparation and painting of vehicles
  9. Assessment of the fleet of vehicles
  10. Preparation of budgetary estimates for the Section
  11. Maintenance of inventory of parts and tools
  12. Purchase of parts, materials, supplies, tools, and equipment
  13. Reporting and recording of accidents and incidents in a timely manner as it relates to the Garage Section
  14. Processing of complaints and defects of vehicles
  1. Maintenance and preservation of recreational grounds, savannahs, parks and open spaces.
  2. Maintenance of corporation buildings (construction, plumbing, electrical, painting, repair and construct stalls)
  3. Maintenance of the market (construction, plumbing, electrical, painting, repair and construct stalls)
  4. Manage cemeteries and cremation sites.
  5. Fabrication and installation of metal works for public safety (hand rails and guard rails).
