Josiah Austin

Josiah Austin is a thirty-four (34) year-old who wears several professional caps inclusive of, but not limited to being an entrepreneur, an athlete, a musician, a servant leader, a local government representative and Chairman of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation. In January 2024, he was appointed to the Trinidad Transport Board, a position in which he humbled to serve.

He obtained his primary school education at the Holy Savior Anglican Primary School, Curepe and secondary level education at the Fatima College. During his school years, he was an exemplary student who displayed strong leadership skills through his involvement in various extracurricular activities including football. Subsequently, receiving a full scholarship from the Liberty University in the United States of America (U.S.A) where he pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Politics and Policy.

Hailing from the community of Dinsley Gardens, Trincity, he firmly believes that a life lived in Service to community and country is one that is well-pleasing in the eyes of men and most importantly, in the sight of God. Community life and community service hold immense significance, as he recognizes the interconnectedness and importance of supporting and uplifting those around him. Understanding that a thriving community is built on the foundation of individuals coming together to contribute positively, drives him to actively seek opportunities to enhance the well-being of every communitywithin the municipality.

He is humbled to serve as the Local Government representative for the electoral district of Macoya/ Trincity for the past seven (7) years. A former Trinidad and Tobago Pro League professional football player, Josiah played with the Caledonia AlA and in 2016 captured the prestigious title as the “Most Valued Playerof the National Futsal League. At university, he received the Student/Athlete Award in both 2010 and 2011 for his outstanding performance as an athlete, while maintaining a perfect G.P.A.

Mr. Austin is the founder of the greatly anticipated Trincity Community Cup Football Tournament. In 2014, he served as the assistant to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness, at Virginia University, Central VA and subsequently, in 2015, he was employed as a Research Officer within the Office of the Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. At present, he is enrolled as a LLB Law student at the University of London.

Mr. Austin truly mirrors the reflection of charisma, determination, and self-motivation with excellent leadership skills, standing confidently in his ability to communicate effectively with persons on various levels. With an outstanding, but rare combination of experience love for community, passion for service and to a very large extent purpose, Josiah Austin remains adamant on making his mark, in selfless service to his community, country and by extension, the world as his desire for excellence transcends through his very existence.

Clayton Blackman

Clayton Blackman is a multifaceted individual with a strong commitment to community service. Alderman Blackman is the Vice Chairman of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation, where he also serves as Chairman of the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee. Through these roles, he is enthusiastic about making a positive impact on the operations that affect the lives of the region’s burgesses.

With a Master’s degree in Public Administration, a Bachelor’s degree in Management, and a Postgraduate diploma in International Relations, he possesses a solid educational foundation. His expertise as a marketing specialist, having received specialized training at Babson University (USA), is complemented by his knowledge of regulatory management from the University of Florida’s Public Utility Research Center.

Clayton’s dedication to community service is evident in his roles as the president of the Santa Monica Gardens Residence Association and his involvement in activities in Mausica Gardens. He also serves as the Assistant Secretary of the United Nations Association of Trinidad and Tobago.

Beyond his public service, he has a profound interest in sports, particularly basketball and track and field. His significant contributions to basketball as a player, coach, and former president of the basketball federation, along with his role as a former member of the TT Olympic Committee, highlight his deep involvement in sports governance. Currently, he serves as the president of the D’Abadie Progressive Club, emphasizing his commitment to community progress. Alderman Clayton Blackman is a well-rounded individual dedicated to community welfare and the development of sports.
